About MR Ambedkar Dental College & Hospital
Mathrusri Ramabai Ambedkar Dental College & Hospital is a renowned Dental Institution and is considered to be one of the Best in India. It was established in the year 1986 by Ananda Social & Educational Trust®. It is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka and Recognised by the Dental Council of India, New Delhi.
The Trust started the educational institutions with the aim of providing quality professional education in the stream of Medical, Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy and other Diploma Courses pertaining to health care education to the aspiring students of financially weaker section of the community / society.
All the institutions are affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka and Recognised by the concerned Government Bodies & Apex Bodies / Govt. of India.
The college & hospital campus of Medical, Nursing and Physiotherapy are situated in a 27.5 acres of land and consists of 650 bedded hospital.
All the colleges and hospitals are well equipped with good infrastructural facilities, Auditorium, Audio•Visual Rooms, Laboratories, Major / Minor Operation Theatres, O.P.D / I.P.D Blocks, Super Speciality Hospital, Hostel facilities for Boys and Girls exclusively for UG and PG students separately for each institutions within the campus, transportation facilities etc., as per the norms of the respective Government and Apex Bodies.

The Medical and Dental Hospitals are empanelled with Employees State Insurance Corporation (E.S.I.C tie-up) and Government of Karnataka’s Danta Bhagya Yojana Scheme for providing health care services referred through the aforesaid schemes.

(B.D.S) - 100 Seats
In case of admission on the basis of qualifying examination under clause (1) based on merit, candidate for admission to BDS course must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the qualifying examination.
The Admission to the college is through the National Eligibility cum Entrance test (NEET), All India Examination held in the month of April-may during the academic year.

M.R.Ambedkar Dental College and Hospital serves as a well-known center for guiding and supporting research activities for its students and staffs. The institute has an Advanced research Centre with latest equipment’s like Research Microscope, Sterio microscope, Penta head microscope, Microtomes, laser units, research endodontic microscope, Deep freezers, Biochemical Analysers, Mixers, Imaging software’s etc. for meticulous research.
Institution has a well-established research and ethical committee, which include well-known researchers, excellent in the field of innovation. Students/ Staffs doing research are guided and analysed by this expert team of members. Priority is given to appointing staff, who possess rich experience in research and good academic credibility. Once the mentor identifies the student as fast learners, in the first year, they are given orientation towards presentation of papers/posters/table top clinics in conference and conventions. Once the students enter clinics, a detailed workshop will be organised by the institute to seed the research ideas in these young minds. Such students were guided and encouraged to publish their innovations in research journals. Our postgraduate students have undertaken numerous research projects and published enormous number of research papers in esteemed journals.
Seminars, symposium are organized by the institution with eye-opening lectures from Deans, Principals and icons from nearby and well-known Colleges/University. The college has developed several proactive value added courses to promote innovation, enhance skills in basic as well as advanced dental procedures and develop a knowledge based approach among students by conveying how knowledge promises employment and empowerment.
Implantology clinic – Nobel Biocare collaborated Implant courses in our institution helps interns, general dentists and post graduate students to understand, learn and practise basic as well as advanced implantology procedures. The college offers a post-graduation implantology course which is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and has an intake of 4 admissions each year. The college also offers a post-graduation esthetic dentistry course conducted by the Departments of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Periodontics. This is also affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and has an intake of 2 admissions each year.
The college offers PhD programs in Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry and Prosthodontics which are affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
On an Average yearly 50-60 research projects are conducted at M R Ambedkar Dental College and Hospital.
